Inter poor show Roma rise to the occasion

Florence was celebrating as Fiorentina held Inter to a 2-2 draw. A fearless Fiorentina put in a great performance as they controlled the game in the major part of the first 45 minutes. A great pass from midfielder Riccardo Montolivo who was the architect of a perfect Fiorentina move creating chaos in the Inter defense and leaving Kierrison alone in front of goal to score his 2nd goal of the season.

The Artemio Franchi stadium packed with viola fans went literally crazy after the home side currently led the game. To their despair, the second half saw a completely different Inter side, probably after Mourinho gave the players a wake up call during the break. The special one responded instantly and put Balotelli in the game from the first minute of the the second half.

Fiorentina were almost impeccable in defence trying to hold the 1-0 lead, closing all the gaps and relying on their counter-attacks. Inter did not give-up and tried to attack from all directions. The leading scorer of the nerazzurri Diego Milito this time did not miss and tapped in a cross from the right flank bringing the result back to level.

Gathering a bit of courage and continuing to pressurize the Fiorentina defense, Inter got their 2nd on the 82nd minute with Samuel Eto’. Inter seemed coming back to life but appearances always deceive. Barley a minute had passed and Inter was careless enough to concede the equalizer while defending the last corner of the game.

Roma did not hesitate for this wonderful occasion for the giallorossi to take charge. Inter's domninance finally came to a halt. Now that many bookies had still confirmed Inter's chances of winning the scudetto this year, might just change their mind. The Roma fans would have to thank Vucinic and Cassetti for their goals today, winning home against Atalanta 2-1.

Juventus finally got a breather winning 1-0 to Cagliari while Milan failed again to keep up with the title chasers. The rossoneri were 2 goals down with a Catania side as hungry as ever for securing themselves from relegation. 2 goals from Borriello saved the day for Milan resulting extremely valuable for any chance to lift the scudetto.
