Sweet revenge for few and deserved destiny for others. Teammates in the most prestigious club last season now find themselves face to face in the Bernabeu Stadium, where they once played together. Both left out from Carlo Pellegrini's squad for the current season, Robben and Sneijder parted for two different adventures. Though Real's 280million euros expenditure in the transfer market were on the story of the day, it was crushed by the results obtained by the galacticos this season, failing to win a title .
It ironically turns out that Real Madrid have long been ruled out from the Champions league, been beaten by Lyon in the quarterfinals and loosing last Sunday the La Liga as well while Robben and Sneijder have brought their new teammates to the Champions League Final. One of the objectives now seeming impossible to achieve by the galacticos, would be regreting the transfer of the two Dutch elites.
"It is a dream come true. I dreamed of this moment since i was playing for Real's junior team", says Esteban Cambiasso, he too ex galacticos and former Internazionale midfielder. "Finally that wish has come true although with another shirt on", he continued. The 28 year old Argentinian midfielder moved to Internazionale in 2004 on a free transfer, who like Robben and Sneijder, did not enter in Real Madrid's future plans. Yet again the morale of the story teaches that money is not always the solution to achieve your goal. Will this lesson change the mentality of Mardid's President Florentino Perez?
