Internazional's problem continues

Since the begin of the 2010-2011 season, its a completely different story for Inter. The expectations have gone way below the margin. After dominating the domestic league for 4 years, winnimg club's most prestigous trophy as the Champions League, the nerazzurri have transformed their greatness into smoke.

The team is unrecognizable. The players seemed to have lost their talent. Just like in the Spacejam movie starring Michael Jordan and the Looney Toons. The impecable striker Diego Milito who left his mark in every game last season has notbeen consistant. Very few games due to his degenerated form and partly due to injury. Wesley Sneijder, the Dutch midfielder that gave Inter a march up and brought Holland to the finals in the World Cup, has yet to be given a vote above 5,5 in his performances this season. Maicon, the tireless right defensive winger that noone could stop, the Brazilian star that can defend and score goals at any time, has found his mortal ways too.

With all these difficulties world's number one keeper Julio Cesar, so as Motta, Cambiasso, Milito,Sneijder, Samuel, Zanetti, Lucio, Stankovic and Chivu have been missing from action for long. When the second line-up is meant to be finally be ready for their chance and show their worth, destiny grants another misfortune......further injuries. Mariga, Obi, Materazzi, Santon, Muntari as well as the second goal keeper Castellazzi have somehow managed to make it to the clinic.

Such luck can be quite killing at times. It seems like a century ago how Inter usually would be dominating in all fronts at this stage. Rafa Benitez did not have an easy task to be the successor of mister perfect, Special One- Jose Mourinho. With all the objectives reached, no new players added and talented Balotelli leaving Appiano Gentile, was according to many, the first false step. The second was the incapability to form an identity in this new cycle. Despite the experience of the former Liverpool coach, Rafa Benitez has not yet been able to stimulate the team's performances. It is not easy to fight back once every objective is achieved the previous season. So even more concentration and determination to do well is needed.

Another clear example of this is the other 2010 Champions League finalist, Bayern Munich. Despite the fact of maintaining the squad and keeping coach Van Gaal, also known as 'the wizard', their story is pretty much the same. The former Bundesliga champions are struggling in a surprising lower mid table position, with 24 points from league leaders Borussia Dortmund.

This can just explain how a season can change its course despite having the same team and staff in circulation. The mental preparation of the players is as crucial as the talent one can possess. That is what keeps the future still a mystery.

Every human would like to have all the answers with them. Every individual would dream to know what the future holds for us. Well maybe if we analyze the situation closely, it is better this way. Yes....this way no one will know who can win or who can loose...and more importantly, everyone has a chance to be the best. In this way there still are questions that we cannot answer and every where in the world people work hard to find them..when those questions are solved, others appear. That's not only soccer... or any other sport...thats reality...and after all...soccer is one BIG living dream.
