Fiorentina - Napoli is the big match of Serie A's 10th fixture of the season. Rafa's side travelled to the Artemio Franchi stadium to confirm their positive run against the Viola ready to repeat themselves after beating top club and defending champions Juventus. The game resulted as pundits estimated, very unpredictable. Two teams more competitive and mature than last season with important signings like Mario Gomez and Gonzalo Higuain just confirm the expectations of the fans from either side.

Montella's boys took off with a great start, commanding the game in midfield and creating many more occasions for goal. Just when Napoli seemed to suffer the pressure of the Viola, Higuain invents a lovely cross that takes the homeside defence unawares. Fellow ex Real Madrid forward, Callejon strikes perfectly on the volley to give Napoli the lead on the first occasion given.
Rossi equalized 10 minutes later from the penalty spot bringing the homeside to a well deserved draw. The Viola not satisfied with the result, continue threatening a well prepaired Napoli defence along with the encore of over 40,000 Fiorentina supporters. Cuadrado and Rossi seem unstoppable yet unlucky not to find the winning goal. Rafa seems to have prepaired this to perfection. The defensive play responded well, but the spectacular counter attacks were lacking. Said and done! 8 minutes later on the peak of the Viola's positive performance, Napoli strike once again. Pandev intelligently exchanges a quick one two with the Belgian talent Mertens, who cuts through the Fiorentina defence with great speed, placing the ball perfectly into the corner of the net.
With Napoli enjoying the lead, Montella doesn't give up hope and adds Vargas along with Matos to strengthen the offensive moves. Well football at times is quite unjust and when a clear penalty is not given in the dying minutes of the game, just a standing ovation and a big hand to the Viola is the remedy.
