Spectacular Inter-Roma

5-3 the final score at the Stadio Meazza in favor of the nerazzurri who jump third in the Serie A table, just 5 points from leaders AC Milan. While Milan suffered another poor performance to Genoa at the Marassi Stadium terminating in a 1-1 draw, Inter seem to have found their winning ways.

Now it can be confirmed, Leonardo has brought that mystical talent to bring back the Inter we have seen in these recent years. Sneijder finally recovered from injury already scoring in his late minute performance against Bari the last game was the missing part of the puzzle for such an encounter. What a difference to see Inter's game with the flying Dutchman present.

In the second minute of the game, Maicon from the right flank faked a cross in the middle, putting it short towards Sneijder. With no marker closeby the Inter architect placed a shot right below the crossbar leaving the helpless keeper Julio, frozen on the spot.
Roma instantly responded with a few threats from both sides but found the number 1 keeper of the world, Juolio Cesar to stop them. 3 saves in one was the first mark left by the freshly recovered Brazilian.

The difficulty to keep Roma from attacking, by now all teams are aware of. In fact Vucinic placed a ball forward for the defensive winger Cassetti, who brilliantly thumped a grounded ball in the middle. Simplicio niked the equalizer with a sliding takle just able to anticipate Maicon's clearance. 1-1 and everything to play for with just 15 minutes into the game.
The game from here with both sides creating chances one after the other was just INSPIRING. Inter were just more believers than the Romans. A double from Etò and Thiago Motta gave Inter an illusion of an easy win. Pazzini though not in the score list gave a valuable contribution, gaining the penalty for the "pazza(mad)" Inter resulting in the red card for Nicolas Burdisso. A lucky deflection of Vucinic and a goal from new entry Loria during a corner brought Roma dangerously back into the game even though down to 10 men.
Without loosing further consentration the homeside stormed the 5th goal to make the fans forget the moments of suffering and celebrated their derserved 3rd position along with the other contenders for the title. Moratti's side are now 5 points away from Milan with one game to recover. Winning would mean 3 points distance from the leaders that could try a magical takeover during the derby itself!

The Internazionale President was extremely pleased with his team. "What courage....and now for the title!".

What a season for the Italian league that still see atleast 5 contenders to the Scudetto- Milan, Napoli, Inter, Lazio and Roma. After the break of the friendly fixtures, the league kicks open with two big games. Napoli - Roma and Juventus - Internazionale.
To loose points now is what no team would wish. Will the contenders strengthen their fist around an initially perfect AC Milan that now seem a little incomplete?
